Planning a renovation or a DIY project? The home calculators work out the square meters of a room, the cubic meters of a space or a load of soil, the volume of a cylinder such as a tank or a pond, how much flooring or tiles you need including a sensible amount for cutting waste, how much concrete to order for a slab or footing, and how much paint you need for walls and ceilings.
Each tool shows the formula and a worked example, so you can check the numbers before you order materials. Measure carefully and round up: it is usually cheaper to have one box left over than to make an extra trip to the store, or to find out the new batch has a slightly different color.
